There is no other way to describe our first show. WOW! We were at the season opener for the Randolph Street Market this past weekend and were completely blown away on so many levels (figuratively and literally). First off, speaking of blown away, the Windy City lived up to her name the early part of Saturday. Thankfully we got everything tied down, the rain held off, and it turned out to be a gorgeous day. Then Sunday came and it was so hot we believed we would catch fire. High 90′s on black pavement anyone? Ugh!
Second, we were surrounded by some amazing and helpful vendors. We have to make special mention of the amazing Acorn Markets. They were full of incredible advice and support (and patience!). Thank you!
Third, Randolph Street Market put on an incredibly fun and party-like atmosphere. What a fabulous (and huge) crowd! We had one awesome spot to take it all in. The music, delicious food (I think I still taste my chicken empanada) and all around good vibes and energy made it a great place to be for both vendor and shopper. This is the 9th season for Randolph and it just seems to get better every year!
Finally, we have the best and most amazing customers ever – you all are incredible! Your kindness, generosity and support mean so much to us. We had to bring a new trailer full of items on Sunday and still went home with a whole lot less! Thank you for supporting us and we look forward to seeing you soon.
There were many great memories made and to mention a few: 1.) Making our first sale (to another vendor) prior to the event even opening (Anyone remember the Tomatoes sign in a prior post?). 2.) One of our items, the dresser mentioned in a prior post and pictured below, was given an Editor’s Choice blue ribbon by New American Luxury Magazine – WOO HOO!!! 3.) Um, hello – the empanadas. 4.) The comedy of us packing up to leave on Sunday. Hey Lynn, can you get the keys to the trailer locks? 5.) A few sweet girls looking to buy chairs. They sat on every chair we had available, giving their opinion to each other. It was like watching Goldilocks, minus the Three Bears – or an adult version of musical chairs. 6.) Spending time with my sister doing what we love.
We leave you with photos of our weekend, courtesy of Lynn’s awesome husband Rod. We’ll see you back at Randolph on June 23 & 24th!
- Wind blown, rained on, still waking up – and loving it :)
